About us

Details

The Department of Electrical Engineering started with a few staff members, offering an intensive five-year Bachelor degree program. Currently, there are 275 students and 17   college members. These numbers are expected to increase over the next upcoming years.

The department offers two tracks: Electrical Engineering /Communications and (b) Electrical Engineering / Power & Control (undergraduate). The undergraduate degree curriculum provides a wide range of basic knowledge in applied sciences such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. This is followed by strong comprehensive and balanced departmental requirements in the different fields of Electrical Engineering, both in classrooms and laboratories. The degree requirements also include a wide spectrum of selective knowledge in Languages, Social Sciences, History, Management, Law and many other fields. The students have access to the latest computer facilities and software that are available in the market, in order to stimulate their engineering skills. Students have the chance of combining the different knowledge skills they gained by conducting different designs through their graduation projects.

Moreover, the department offers two postgraduate program (MSc.) in Communication and in Power Engineering.

The department has the following well-equipped laboratories to support the theoretical understanding of students.

Electrical Circuits and Filters Lab

MATLAB Applications Lab in Electrical Engineering

Electronic Circuits and Devices Lab

Electronics Lab

Analog Communication Lab

Measurements and Instrumentation Lab

Industrial Electronics Lab (Power Electronics Lab)

Electric Machines Lab

Power System Programing Lab

Power Systems Lab

Digital Communications & Communication Systems Lab

Automatic Control Lab

Protection and High Voltage Lab

Antenna and Microwave Lab

Logic Design and Microprocessors Lab

These laboratories are available for students to use during their scheduled laboratory courses. Moreover, students can also request permission from their instructors to access the laboratories outside of the designated course hours.
