Student Transfer from
other Institutions
Article 26
A. It is
allowed for students to transfer from other universities to Mutah University if
there are vacancies for them, according to the following conditions:
1. That the student fulfills the conditions for admission to the
university.
2. The student must be transferred from a university, university
college or university institute recognized by Mutah University.
3. The number of credit hours he has successfully studied must not
be less than (30) thirty credit hours, or he must have completed an academic
year successfully and without failure in any subject for universities that do
not adopt the credit hour system. In all cases, the student’s grade must not be
less than Good.
4. The transfer of the student to the same major in which he
studied at the university he transferred from or to a corresponding major at
the university, and this is based on the transcript of his grades at that
university.
5. That the student has not received any disciplinary punishment,
except for a warning from the university he is transferring from.
B. A candidate whose high school average was
Pass in the major he transferred to in the year of obtaining high school or the
year of transfer may be transferred to Mutah University, provided that he has
not failed in any of the subjects he studied at the previous university.
C. A committee is formed at the university
called (Student Transfer Admission Committee) headed by the Vice President for
Colleges Affairs, with the membership of the Dean of the college to which
transfer is required and the Director of the Admission and Registration Unit to
consider requests for transfer of students to Mutah University from other
universities. The committee submits its recommendations to the President of the
University to take the appropriate decision regarding them.
D. Transfer requests are submitted to the
Admission and Registration Unit at the beginning of the first and second
semesters on the form prepared for this purpose, and the admission decision is
issued by the university president.
Article 27
A. In the case of approval of a student transfer
to Mutah University, a number of courses equivalent to those mentioned in his
study plan may be given to him, provided that the total does not exceed (60)
sixty credit hours.
B. The department council will equalize the
subjects that the student has studied at his university in light of the study
plan at Mutah University after taking the opinions of other departments related
to the subjects he studied outside the department.
C. The mark of any subject should not be less
than (60%) or its equivalent, and a pass grade is assigned to it for graduation
purposes. The grades of these subjects are not calculated in the student's
cumulative average.
D. The course (National Education) is compulsory
for Jordanian students and optional for non-Jordanians. Non-Jordanian students
who did not choose this subject should study instead any of the optional
university requirements mentioned in their study plan.
E. The student is exempted from studying
military sciences in one of the following cases:
1. If he successfully studied it at any public or private
Jordanian university.
2. If he is a graduate of Jordanian military colleges (the
military wing of Mutah University, the Royal Military College, the Military
Candidates School) or its equivalent from foreign military colleges.
3. If he is an officer who has obtained the foundational grade
courses and the foundational agent courses for other ranks.
4. The Department of University Education at the Directorate of
Military Education and Culture approves that the student in question meets the
exemption conditions mentioned in the previous item.
Student Transfer
from another Department/Program
Article 28
Transfer requests from
one major to another are submitted electronically on the website of the
Admission and Registration Unit within a maximum period of four weeks from the
beginning of the first, second or summer semester. The beginning of the summer
semester, and the committee submits its recommendations to the university
president to take the appropriate decision in this regard, according to the
following conditions:
A. There should be a
vacancy in the department that the student wishes to transfer to.
B. A student may
transfer from a major with a higher GPA to a major with an average GPA equal to
or lower than it.
C. A student may
transfer from a specialization with a lower average to a specialization with a
higher average if his high school average is competitively acceptable in the
department he wishes to transfer to, the year he joined the university or the
year he submitted the transfer request.
D. If the student is
accepted in the specialization in which he accepted the lowest competitive rate
at the university, he may transfer to the specialization that is higher in the
average directly and on the basis of competition.
E. 1. In the case of the
student changes his major, the courses he chooses from the courses he has
studied in the major he transferred from will be counted as part of the study
plan for the new major, and the marks of those subjects are included in the
student’s cumulative average. From the previous major, he is given the
opportunity to study two semesters to raise his cumulative average according to
the instructions, starting from the semester in which he registered his new
major, and it is considered the first opportunity for him. 2. The student keeps
his full academic record in the major in which he was accepted when he returns
to the same major again, and the courses he studied in the major he transferred
to and succeeded in are credited to him, which fall within the study plan in
his major that he joined at the university.
F. The basis for
transferring to the Department of English Language and Literature from other
departments at the university shall be as follows:
1. Availability of a
vacancy in the department.
2. That the student
obtains a mark of (75%) in the subject "English Language/101" the
first time he registered the subject, or a result of (excellent) in the English
language proficiency exam
3. To pass the
classification examination decided by the English Language Department.
4. To fulfill the second
condition before applying for the classification exam.
G. The basis for transferring to transferring
from other departments in the university shall be as follows:
1. The student must obtain
a mark of no less than (75%) in English 101.
2. The student must obtain a mark of no less than (75%) in Arabic
Language 101.
3. The student must pass the examination prepared for this
purpose.
H. The provisions contained in paragraphs (a, b) of Article (6) of
these instructions shall be applied to the student transferring from one major
to another within the same program (regular/parallel) in terms of the period
spent enrolled in study to obtain a bachelor’s degree. I. A student who
transfers from one program to another and in another specialization is treated
as a new student in terms of the period he spends registered in study to obtain
a bachelor’s degree, with the exception of the student accepted in the same
specialization, as the provisions set forth in paragraphs (a, b) of Article (6)
of this instructions.
