Welcome To the College
Welcome To the College
It is of my great pleasure to welcome you to the College of Engineering at Mutah University. Our College is one of the oldest engineering colleges in Jordan. It was established in 1984 with four College members. The College has grown since that time to become one of the largest colleges in the university. Currently, a total of 67 College members and about 50 of supporting and technician staff with a wide spectrum of research and industrial experience who are involved in well-structured undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Since that time, the number of students increased sharply year by year to reach 3000 students enrolled in six different departments.
The College offers Bachelor Degree of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Computer and Industrial Systems Engineering with the completion of 163 credit hours of multidisciplinary subjects, and eight weeks of field training. In addition, the College offers Masters Degree (M.Sc) in five programs: MSc in Engineering Management, MSc in Telecommunications Engineering, MSc in Renewable Energy, MSc in Mechanical Engineering, and MSc in Water and Environmental Engineering. Additionally, the College provides short courses, workshops, and consulting services in different fields of engineering through the University Southern Center for Studies and Continuing Education (SCSCE) to extend its services to community by participating in meetings, councils, committees, and conferences in both public and private sectors.
Moreover, our College has excellent reputation among Arabic and Jordanian Engineering Colleges through graduating qualified engineers who proved themselves in local, regional and international job markets. Nowadays, the College is working on strategic plan for its academic programs to be accredit by the Qٍ Quality assurance and by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET of the United States of America in order to maintain its excellence in engineering education in Jordan and the region.

About us
About
The Department of Electrical Engineering started with a few staff members, offering an intensive five-year Bachelor degree program. Currently, there are 275 students and 17   college members. These numbers are expected to increase over the next upcoming years.
The department offers two tracks: Electrical Engineering /Communications and (b) Electrical Engineering / Power & Control (undergraduate). The undergraduate degree curriculum provides a wide range of basic knowledge in applied sciences such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. This is followed by strong comprehensive and balanced departmental requirements in the different fields of Electrical Engineering, both in classrooms and laboratories. The degree requirements also include a wide spectrum of selective knowledge in Languages, Social Sciences, History, Management, Law and many other fields. The students have access to the latest computer facilities and software that are available in the market, in order to stimulate their engineering skills. Students have the chance of combining the different knowledge skills they gained by conducting different designs through their graduation projects.
Moreover, the department offers two postgraduate program (MSc.) in Communication and in Power Engineering.
The department has the following well-equipped laboratories to support the theoretical understanding of students.
Electrical Circuits and Filters Lab
MATLAB Applications Lab in Electrical Engineering
Electronic Circuits and Devices Lab
Electronics Lab
Analog Communication Lab

About us
Society has always viewed Mechanical Engineers as creators of products that are needed at affordable costs. Mechanical Engineers develop and use technologies from aerospace to agriculture. The growing concern for the environment has opened up new opportunities and engineers. Mechanical engineers also play major roles in many fields of interest which include: energy utilization and conservation, heating and air conditioning, transportation and automotive fields, refrigeration and fluid machinery, production and processing machinery, and their maintenance. They have responsibility for research and development, testing and maintenance, control, and manufacture in many diverse fields. Because a mechanical engineer might work in any of these fields, an academic program has been planned that offers challenging and basic education.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 1994 as part of the Engineering College. Currently, it has a total number of 226 student enrollment, and 18 college members with interest in the following fields of specializations such as: thermal sciences, fluid mechanics, design and manufacturing, controls and dynamics, applied mechanics, industrial management, and material science.

The department offers a Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering. A basic science program in physics, chemistry and mathematics is followed up by an intensive engineering science program in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, solid mechanics, design, materials and manufacturing, engineering management, energy, and many more courses. This gives the student a broad knowledge in the thermal field sciences, production and management sciences. The program includes a number of elective courses that permit the student to undertake further studies in the field of her/his particular interest. Many courses are supported with their related labs to increase the knowledge and prepare the student for graduate work. A master's degree program is currently under planning and will be introduced into the department in the near future.

Teaching And Research Labs:
The following laboratories in the department are well-equipped and provide facilities for both instruction and research.

1- Mechanical Maintenance.

2- Mechanical Vibrations.

3- Advanced Thermal Lab.

4- Heat Transfer.

5- Thermodynamics.

6- Fluid Mechanics.

7- Theory of Machines.

8- Automotive and Internal Combustion Engine.

9- Properties of Materials.

10- Strength of Materials.

11- Metrology.

12- Manufacturing Process

A steam power plant in the advanced thermal lab is a good example of the equipment available.
