Professor Amin Aqel, Vice President of the University, conducted a visit to
the Faculty of Engineering on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. During this visit,
he met with Professor Jamal Bani Salama, Dean of the Faculty, along with the
Vice Dean, Assistant Deans, and department heads, as part of the university’s
ongoing initiative to engage and maintain communication with its various
faculties through field visits.
The Dean of the Faculty welcomed Professor Amin Aqel and provided a brief
overview of the Faculty of Engineering, detailing the number of faculty
members, laboratory supervisors, the college’s achievements, and its advanced
laboratory facilities. He also highlighted the research projects supported and
obtained by faculty members. Additionally, the Dean presented an outline of the
current needs of the Faculty of Engineering, followed by an open discussion in
which department heads and assistant deans elaborated on the specific
requirements of each department.
Professor Amin Aqel expressed his admiration for the Faculty’s ongoing
accomplishments and commended the recent progress, particularly noting the
attainment of ABET accreditation for the Departments of Electrical and Chemical
Engineering. He listened attentively to the Dean’s and department heads' requests,
promising to work toward addressing them through the university’s official
channels.
