Dr. Yazeed Jweihan​, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, and Dr. Tareq Al-Jaafreh participated in the operational opening of the Built Environment and Construction Systems Center at The Hashemite University on Sunday, January 21, 2024. The aim was to explore avenues for future research collaboration and the possibility of conducting joint qualitative research in the field of civil engineering. This center, spanning an area of 3200 square meters, undertakes various tasks, including providing high-precision tests, evaluations, and assessments on structural elements and systems of natural sizes and building components for the engineering sector and constructions within Jordan and abroad. It also conducts qualitative research and provides education for graduate students in civil engineering and construction engineering, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and advanced devices.​
