The Architecture Department at Mu'tah University participated in the Seventh
International Jordanian Architectural Conference. This participation falls
within the framework of external engagements aimed at enriching students'
knowledge, supporting their expertise, and involving them in national and
university-level events and societal institutions. The conference was organized
by the Jordan Engineers Association/Architectural Engineering Branch under the
patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, under the theme
"Architecture and Artificial Intelligence (ARCH-AI)".
Representing the department were faculty members: Dr. Lara Shawawreh, the
department chair, Dr. Jinan Abu Qadurah, and Dr. Yumna Aldmour. Several
students from the third and fourth years also participated actively,
contributing through attendance, organization, or participation in the student
exhibition. The conference discussed the importance of artificial intelligence
as a new knowledge that will shape the future and emphasized the necessity to
incorporate it into various aspects of architectural engineering. This was
achieved through diverse sessions moderated and discussed by architects and
academics from across the nation. Ideas, perspectives, practical, and
scientific experiences were exchanged.
The student exhibition accompanying the conference showcased projects for
the reconstruction of Gaza using artificial intelligence, designed by
architecture students from Jordanian universities.
We extend our gratitude to the College of Engineering, represented by the
dean, and to the Architecture Department, represented by all faculty members,
for this unique opportunity that allowed us to engage with the architectural
community while still students. We also thank the Architectural Branch of the Jordan
Engineers Association, represented by the branch president, Engineer Imad
Dabbas, for their efforts in integrating students into the activities of the
Engineers Association.
