Program
Educational Objectives (PEOs)
PEO 1: Graduates will hold leadership positions and demonstrate a professional
technical expertise in Chemical Engineering or related fields.
PEO 2: Graduates will grasp advanced research capabilities and pursue postgraduate
degrees in Chemical Engineering or related fields.
PEO 3: Graduates will gain wide, practical, and holistic technical
perspectives to encompass individual and community development.
These three Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) is to be translated
through implementing the following practical measures:
1.
Providing students with an understanding of the
fundamental knowledge prerequisite for the practice of /or for advanced study
in chemical engineering, including its scientific principles (math and
science), rigorous analysis, computational and experimental methods, and
creative design. Hence, graduates will successfully achieve critical thinking
ability that has enabled them to solve complex problems.
2. Providing students with a broad education, including
knowledge of important current issues in engineering with emphasis on chemical
engineering, necessary for productive careers in the public or private sectors
or for the pursuit of graduate education. This will include the ability to
design, control and optimize processes and to solve engineering problems.
Therefore, graduates will demonstrate an acceptable level of competency in the
discipline of chemical engineering.
3. Developing students’ skills for clear communication
and responsible teamwork and to emphasize professional attitudes and ethics, so
that students are prepared for the complex modern work environment and for
lifelong learning. Graduates will successfully achieve cooperative goals
through teamwork and will demonstrate effective communication skills.
4. Providing an environment that enables students to
pursue their goals in an innovative program that is rigorous and challenging,
open, and supportive. They will be able handle future improvements and advances
in chemical engineering throughout their professional careers. Therefore,
graduates will exhibit the capacity for life-long learning.
