The
Department of Chemical Engineering was established in 1992. Currently, the
Department has 10 faculty members, 4 professors, 2 associate professors, 3
assistant professors, and one teacher.
The
department awards a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering after the
completion of the student's study (163) credit hours with a minimum success.
The number of students in the department is 293 at the bachelor level.
The
department also provides a master's degree in chemical engineering with 33
credit hours in two tracks, thesis and comprehensive exam. Currently, there are
9 students at the master level in the department.
The
department has been restructured in 2001/2002, and the undergraduate program is
updated regularly and continuously to suit the requirements of the labor market
and international standards. The Chemical Engineering Department contains basic
and advanced laboratories in chemical engineering, modern equipment and a
computer network connected to the Internet. The department has the following

Dynamics and Control
The
department of Mutah University is characterized by its attractive geographical
location in the south-central region of Jordan. It has many manufacturing and
mining industries for many raw materials such as oil shale, phosphate, cement,
copper, and industrial city.
There
are no tracks or specializations within the chemical engineering B.Sc. program.
However, the current curriculum allows students to choose three elective
courses from the elective courses offered by the department.
Program Delivery Modes
The
Chemical Engineering curriculum is offered as a traditional on-campus day
program. Traditional lectures and laboratories are offered between 8:00 am and
5:00 pm from Sunday to Thursday. For example, a 3 credit hours course is given
as three lectures per week each one is 50 contact minutes or 2 lectures per
week each one is 75 contact minutes.
